Industry-Recognised Certificate – All Online – Free for Queenslanders!

If you’re lucky enough to be in Queensland, you can now access free online precast training thanks to a new initiative from the industry’s peak body, National Precast.

This new series of online micro-credentials, developed by industry and funded by the Queensland Government, is available at no cost for eligible Queenslanders.

But this training isn’t limited to Queensland – participants across Australia can also enrol and complete the training for a small fee. National Precast members also receive exclusive member-only pricing.

What’s on offer?

There are 10 micro-credentials in total. Complete all 10 and you’ll earn an industry-recognised Certificate: Fundamentals of Precast Concrete.

Now live!

The first module – MC1: Working with the Precast Industry – is available now.

According to National Precast CEO Sarah Bachmann, it’s a practical introduction for anyone working in, around, or with precast.

“This first module sets the scene for deeper learning, with subsequent modules offering more technical content aligned to real-world roles and responsibilities in the industry,” says Ms Bachmann.

The first module touches on topics covered in subsequent modules, which will be:

  • Safety and Environmental Aspects of Precast Manufacturing
  • Managing Quality and Compliance in the Precast Industry
  • Interpreting Precast Plans and Documentation
  • Precast Manufacturing Tools, Plant and Equipment
  • Reinforcement and Cage Assembly for Precast Elements
  • Precast Mould Assembly, Casting and Demoulding
  • Precast Finishing, Curing and Remedial Work
  • Precast Lifting, Handling, Storage and Transportation
  • Prestressed Precast.

Why you should sign up

This training goes beyond closing knowledge gaps – it’s about building a more capable, confident, and compliant precast workforce. With no other nationally endorsed precast qualification currently available, these micro-credentials mark a real turning point. They:

  1. Provide a recognised pathway for upskilling.
  2. Allow workers to learn safely and flexibly, around job demands.
  3. Support better safety, productivity, and quality on projects.
  4. Give employers a trusted framework to benchmark and grow their teams.

Developed by industry, for industry, the content is practical, targeted, and designed to reflect how precast concrete is actually manufactured and used across construction.

Who’s eligible for FREE Training?

  1. Queensland residents.
  2. Aged 15 or older and no longer at school.
  3. Australian or NZ citizens, or on an eligible visa.

Outside Queensland? No problem, you can still access the training! It’s available across Australia for a small, one-off fee.

Ready to get started? Visit National Precast Online to enrol directly, or check out the Micro Credential Training Information page for more details.
