29 May 2026

Cooperative Research Australia’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Special Commendation went to SmartCrete CRC Research Director and UTS Professor Vute Sirivivatnanon.

The award was presented at last month’s Collaborate Innovate conference gala dinner, in recognition of an outstanding lifelong contribution to innovation in Australia.

For 50 years, Professor Sirivivatnanon has faced down the challenge of making concrete more durable and sustainable through the innovative use of industrial byproducts and close collaboration with industry.

Professor Sirivivatnanon’s career-long efforts have culminated in the impact that the sector is realising today as we begin to scale many of the innovations that he pioneered.

We congratulate Professor Sirivivatnanon on this achievement and his passionate dedication to our concrete community.
