New Generation Low Carbon Geopolymer Concretes

Event details

Date and Time: 17 June 2025 (12:30pm)

Location: Online

Geopolymer concrete is made from industrial by-products and without ordinary Portland cement, offering huge potential to reduce our CO2 emissions and increase circularity. While geopolymer concrete has shown promise for many years, a new generation material is demonstrating better results than ever before.

Researchers led by Kirk Vessalas at the University of Technology Sydney and industry partner Canenviro Innovations are developing new generation low-carbon geopolymer concretes for precast applications. In this session, they present the latest game-changing results from lab and field trials, supporting commercial feasibility for Canenviro’s patented Geomix technology.

Hosted by: SmartCrete CRC & National Precast Concrete Association Australia.

Presenters: Kirk Vessalas (University of Technology Sydney), Dave Gregory (Canenviro Innovations)

Chair: Olivia Wu
