SmartCrete CRC Project Lead Wins CRA’s Enduring Industry-Research Collaboration Award

SmartCrete CRC congratulates Dr Mojtaba Mahmoodia on winning Cooperative Research Australia’s (CRA) Enduring Industry-Research Collaboration Award 2025.

Dr. Mojtaba Mahmoodian,  a distinguished searcher and Senior Lecturer in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at RMIT University, was  honoured with the esteemed Enduring Industry-Research Collaboration Award at this year’s CRA Excellence in Innovation Awards. This accolade recognises the significant impact of his collaborative research with industry and SmartCrete CRC on advancing digital twin technologies for concrete infrastructure monitoring and maintenance.

As the research lead for SmartCrete CRC’s project Digital Twin of Reinforce Concrete Infrastructure for Intelligent Asset Management , Dr. Mahmoodian has successfully united four universities and ten industry partners in developing AI-driven predictive maintenance tools. These innovations empower infrastructure owners to enhance asset longevity, safety, and sustainability, showcasing the power of industry-research partnerships.
