Clinker Chat: Cement Australia

3 March 2024

Cement is a vital commodity for the Australian economy, providing significant economic and social benefits. Yet, the production of cement is one of the largest contributors to CO2 emissions.

Cement Australia, the largest integrated cement manufacturer and distributor in Australia, is focused on delivering sustainable cement products. By investing in eco-efficient production and using Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs), alternative fuels, and improved transportation methods, the company reduces the use of fossil fuels in its manufacturing and distribution process. A little while ago, SmartCrete CRC CEO Clare Tubolets spoke to Bruce Perry and Olivia Alexis from Cement Australia about the company’s different pathways to CO2 emissions reductions.

Clinker Chat features insightful conversations with industry and research leaders about innovative pathways to improve the competitiveness and productivity of Australia’s concrete ecosystem.
